Symposium sessions will not only consider exciting developments in current interpretive practice, but will also be diverse and engaging in their modes of delivery.

• Papers & presentations

(12-15 minute presentation in one hour issue-linked session)
Sessions consist of 3 x 12-15 minute linked presentations on one aspect of a challenge view, with 15-20 minutes for questions and discussion to the three presenters, making a one-hour session in total. Presentations can be about projects, ideas, techniques, controversies or dilemmas.

• Workshops (1-hour, 2-hour and 3-hour)

Most workshops are 1 or 2-hour interactive or training sessions. There are also a couple of 3-hour training workshops. Workshops will relate to one of the challenge views, and engage delegates in direct and/or hands-on experience, in interactive skill development, or in showcasing high quality visual, audio or digital presentations.

• Challenges and resolutions – Finding the worm in the apple

(Facilitated 1-hour workshop on an aspect within a challenge area)
These one-hour sessions each define a specific issue needing resolution, and then provide a facilitated conversation focusing on problem-solving options and techniques. What is the problem? Why is it a problem? What would be improved if this problem were solved?

Delegate-submitted issues will form the basis for workshop discussion and resolution. These sessions will be externally facilitated.

• Give us the Pip! (Presentations under 5 minutes)

From little things big things grow! Pips should be exciting snatches of ideas, techniques, controversies or performance art. They will provoke thought or feeling; encourage audience interaction/participation, but keep within theme parameters. Most Pips will be presented in general sessions.
