Biography
My passions are education, people and enjoying the Australian natural and cultural landscape - I try to enjoy all of those as often as possible. I've made a career of my joys and I consider myself incredibly blessed to have friends, family and colleagues so dedicated to conservation and heritage.
I came to Australia for a working holiday in 1999 and am now a dual Australian/UK citizen thanks to a rural sponsorship program offered during my time as a horse riding "trail boss" in Cowra. I have contributed as an Edutainer, Facilitator and Manager/Host for various tourism and interpretation projects and am now a very happy part of the Museums and Education team at Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, an Education Ranger at Centennial Parklands and Trainee Discovery Guide with the National Parks and Wildlife Service. I hold a degree in Performance Studies and English from the University of Sydney, Cert 4 in Training and Education, Cert 3 in Tourism (Guiding) and am currently studying Marketing online with OTEN, and starting a Grad Dip. Ed (Society and Culture) with Macquarie Uni in 2012.
Interpretation Australia enriches my passion for creating special experiences with professional development, networking and social opportunities, across a broad spectrum of the industry, through regular events and bulletins.
Anyone interested in becoming more involved with any part of what we do are strongly encouraged to get in touch - "newbies" and students are especially welcome. |
